Email Addresses

This page lists all your addresses and what action to take for each address.

The actions include

• Receive - receive emails
• Delete - Just disregard, do not let sender know anything
• Disposable - All mail will be deleted after 24 hours (option only available to premium accounts)

It will also list any notes to help you remember why the address was created.

Who to receive email from

Receive mail from

Everyone

All mail will be received (or forwarded) to you. This should only be used where this email address is only given to trusted friends or a small group.

Friends only

This option will only let mail through to you if they have been listed in your friends list. This is particularly safe, but means that others cannot email you. You can include whole domains in your friends ( @yahoo.com for example).

Friends allowed, blacklist excluded, challenge others

This option will allow emails from your friends and will drop any emails on your blacklist. Anybody else will be sent a 'challenge response' email. This email will include a link which they must click. If they click the link within 7 days, the email will be forwarded to you and they will be added to your friends list. If they do not, the mail will be deleted in 7 days.

This is a very effective way of removing spams because nearly all spam will have a fake sender address. The challenge response will be sent to the fake address which in most cases will not exist and will never be received by anybody. After 7 days the email will be deleted.

If you like, you can look through all the challenge response emails and delete or approve any, saving the sender from clicking on the link.

Allow all but blacklisted

This option will allow all mail through except for anybody blacklisted. This is partially effective for removing spam, therefore it is best for addresses which are not publicised too much.
